What is advanced electrolysis?
The treatment involves the use of a small, very fine probe about the size of an eyelash, which is introduced along the line of the capillary. A very small current is applied, which helps to destroy the blood vessel and starve the blemish of any nourishment. This helps to diminish any skin problems you may have. The treatment time varies depending on the patient and the skin problem.
Some of the treatments may need GP referral eg. moles, and some may need more that one treatment .
What can advanced electrolysis treat?
Dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN) is a benign cutaneous condition common amongst people of negroid decent. It is usually characterized by multiple, small, hyperpigmented, asymptomatic papules on the face of adults.
Blood spots are common skin growths that can develop on most areas of your body. They're also known as senile angiomas or Campbell de Morgan spots. They're usually found on people aged 30 and older. The collection of small blood vessels inside a cherry angioma give them a reddish appearance.
Keratin cysts located in the superficial dermis. They appear as white to creamy yellow raised papules, either singly or in clusters. The size varies from between 1-3 mm.
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a common, benign condition of sebaceous glands in adults of middle age or older. Lesions can be single or multiple and manifest as yellowish, soft, small papules on the face (particularly nose, cheeks, and forehead)
Moles occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. These cells are called melanocytes, and they make the pigment that gives skin its natural color. Moles may darken after exposure to the sun, during the teen years, and during pregnancy.
